The patient presented a our clinic with many esthetic and functional problems. First a periodontal treatment for having a healthy gum was performed, then mini dental implants were placed in the lower jaw, as the patient had no teeth on the lower jaw and was not considering a surgery for placing regular dental implants. Mini implant are an alternative to standard implants. Mini implants are placed without a surgery, and the removable prosthesis can be placed immediately on these implants, so the results are immediate and very satisfying. Also root canals has been performed, in fact when we are going to place new crowns, we always redo the root canals treatments by an endodontic specialist as, if these are not redone, may cause abcese and cysts and inflammation may from inside the bone within time. Even if the percentage is low, we do not take any risks. The crowns must be placed over healthy teeth without potentially inflammatory problems. After root canals, the fiber glass posts has been placed. Finally , a fixed ceramic bridge has been placed. This bridge has many roles. First it will enhance the esthetic, second it is very strong to withstand the masticator forces, so it will have a functional role, third it make the teeth splinted together. In cases of severe periodontal disease and bone loss sometimes it is recommended to splint mob lie teeth to give them long life lasting.. Periodontal disease is when we have inflammation in the gum and the bone that causes the loss of the support of the teeth. The teeth become mobile and we start to loose them one by one.
